The special workshop on investigative journalism targeting Maldivian journalists has begun organized by the Center for Investigative Reporting in Sri Lanka, has concluded successfully.

Conducted via Zoom, the workshop began on 13 November with over 25 participants including reporters from TV stations and other media platforms.

The five-day workshop was conducted in partnership with the Addu Women’s Association (AWA).

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the former Health Minister, Dr. Mariyam Shakeela said that journalism is an important sector and the participants that completed the workshop has received a lot of information on journalism.

And said that she hopes that the work of the participants would be seen soon.

The trainer on the Workshop was the Chief Editor of the Nepal Investigative Multimedia Journalism Network (NIMJN), Rajneesh Bhandari and the Executive Director of the Center for Investigative Reporting – Sri Lanka, Dilrukshi Handunnetti who has over 20 years of experience in the field contributing to international media outlets including Al Jazeera, IRIN and Reuters.
