The government has taken the decision to introduce mini buses to Male' and hand over operations to MTCC.

In a press conference held by the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, Minister Aishath Nahula said that the decision was taken to introduce mini buses in Male' in order to expand transport services as required by the people.

Nahula noted that the ministry is receiving several complaints regarding the current bus services provided by both Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) and the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company Plc. (MTCC).

The Minister reiterated that the current bus operations conducted by MPL will be handed over to MTCC. And that new, environmentally friendly buses will be brought in to conduct travel.

Nahula said that current buses are effective and efficient and that people do not have to wait for long for buses in all areas of operations.
