Education Minister, Dr. Aishath Ali has said that the construction of the four schools being developed in Hulhumale’ phase two will be starting this year.

Talking on a program on RaajjeTV last night, Dr. Aishath Ali said that MVR 3 billion is allocated for the Education sector in the budget for the next year and a lot of efforts will be made towards the development of the education system.

And so, with 212 public schools across the country a 105 PSIP project will be conducted to change the schools to a single session including changing the schools in Male’ City to single session.

She said that along with changing schools to a single session, the development of the four schools in Hulhumale’ phase two will be starting this year as well.

The Education Minister said that the schools meal program suspended due to COVID-19 will be resuming in January with changes to the menu.

Speaking on the laws of Education, Dr. Aishath Ali said that bringing an Education Law into effect was one of the most important steps by the government for the Education sector.
