International Maldives Travel Market (IMTM) fair has started today after introducing a new platform to hold virtual meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The fair was opened today by the Tourism Minsiter, Abdulla Mausoom in a virtual ceremony.
The two-day fair being held today and tomorrow is the first virtual travel and tourism industry exhibition in the country. To conduct the virtual fair, a special platform named IMTM was launched.
IMTM said that the newly launched platform will connect travel agents and tour operators internationally. And the resorts, guesthouses, liveaboards, local tour operators and agents can conduct business meetings.
To promote the IMTM, every participating party receives a virtual booth that allows custom designs and welcome videos along with leaflets and contact numbers. And in the future, the platform aims to provide the service of a connection request to conduct business.
The platform also includes an Exhibition Hall feature where each participant gets a virtual table where interested parties can interact with chat, video call or audio call.
IMTM said that a registration fee will be taken from participants to have access to the platform for an year towards continued connectivity. And so, a single user login will be charged USD 56 and USD 112 from a multi-user login.
