President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that he wants to see the Parliament work better than they are doing now.
He made the remark responding to a question on Raajje TV’s “Fashaa Iru” program this morning, regarding the rumors that the parliament is infringing on the authority of the government.
The President said that the three powers of government have been separated and clearly indicated in the Constitution and the Parliament is the lawmaker and holds the government responsible while the government implements the law and that leaves Judiciary that serves justice.
President Solih said that he wants to see each body working within their sector.
He also said that the Parliament has been doing a lot of good and the Speaker of the Parliament, Mohamed Nasheed has been doing a lot of work.
However, he also wants to see the parliament perform well and believes the parliament can perform better than how they are now.
