President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that the work of the Presidential Commission Investigating Deaths and Disappearances and the Commission on Corruption and Asset Recovery are not moving at the wanted speed..
He made the remark responding to a question on Raajje TV’s “Fashaa Iru” program this morning, regarding the things that had not gone according to plan during his term so far.
The President said that due to obstructions, the Commissions have not progressed at the expected speed and the depth he wanted in some instances and noted the Asset Recovery and Disappearances. He said that the major challenges to the Commission were discovered after the work had begun.
President Solih noted that a lot of work is required to get to the bottom of the inquiries and the Commissions have been working efficiently even with the challenges.
He also noted the families involved in the inquiries by the Commission Investigating Deaths and Disappearances have a lot of concerns and said that he is closely monitoring the work of that particular commission.
