A special Guard Mounting ceremony has been held at the Victory Day memorial on the occasion of the 32nd Victory Day.

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said that the ceremony held at 6 a.m. this morning was honored by the Defence Minister, Mariya Ahmed Didi. The ceremony saw the flag hoisting and guard mount at the memorial followed by a seven-gun salute.

The ceremony was attended by Chief of Defence Force, Major General Abdulla Shamaal, Vice Chief of Defence Force, Brigadier General Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef and other senior officers along with retired officers and officers that were on active duty during the time of the attack.

The special Victory Day ceremony closed with the song of the MNDF.

As part of the Victory Day celebration, a special Fajr-Prayer followed by a flag hoisting ceremony was held at the MNDF divisional commands with a numerous officers taking part in them.
