Ex-President Abdulla Yameen has said that we have to question benefits gained by Muaz by talking about the explosion aboard Presidential vessel -'Finifen Maa'. Former spokesperson to the Presidents' Office, Ibrahim Muaz Ali, had said that the video of the explosion shown to the press was edited and has recently implied that President Yameen had known about the incident beforehand.

Speaking to the press after exiting Police headquarters last night, President Yameen said that it is important to question why Muaz has only recently spoken up regarding the incident. Yameen said that we have to inquire as to what manner of benefits Muaz gained in insinuating anything while the case had already been through investigations and court sentencing.

President Yameen questioned as to which claim deserved the people's confidence - whether it is the investigation of a Presidential Commission assigned by the government, or the word of an individual.

Yameen further raised the question whether the people could truly believe that he would endanger his wife and family, who were with him aboard the vessel at the time of the incident, if he had been forewarned about an explosion.
