Over 37,000 tourists have visited the Maldives since the country reopened its borders on 15 July 2020.

Statistics from the Ministry of Tourism show that 37,468 tourists have visited the Maldives between 15 July and 28 October 2020 with the highest number of tourists visiting from Russia with 7,507 tourists. While the highest number of tourists have visited from Russia, the second highest number of tourists have visited from UAE with 3,479 tourists followed by USA with 3,056 tourists.

Tourism Ministry said that 420,315 tourists have visited the Maldives this year so far.

When the Maldives reopened the borders in July, only 1,752 tourists visited that month but the numbers have been increasing with the month of October seeing 18,601 tourists.
