Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has said that the harbor expansion project of Kulhudhuffushi City in Haa Dhaalu Atoll is close to completion.

The company said that they are re-dredging the harbor for depth and 30 of the work has been completed.

Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has previously said that a special harbor is being developed for cargo vessels along with a port entrance, a specific area for docking smaller vessels, cargo ramp, a water front zone for smaller vessels and sea sports and a ferry terminal as part of the project.

The ferry terminal includes a retail shop, prayer rooms, convenience store, mother’s room and a café along with the ticketing counters and an office space.

MTCC said that the project contracted for MVR 126 million in 2018, is estimated to be completed at the end of this month.
