United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has endorsed the International Maldives Travel Market (IMTM) fair 2020.

Talking to One Online, the Managing Director of IMTM, Hawwa Shiuna said that this year’s fair will be held on 16 and 17 November on a virtual network. Shiuna said that UNWTO will be helping the IMTM 2020 in terms of providing information and financial assistance.

She said that the hope is that over 80 agents are taking part in the fair this year and similar to previous years, a high number of visits to the fair.

IMTM 2020 is going to feature numerous information on the Maldivian tourism industry along with the discussion on the challenges faced by those in the industry and how to overcome it.

Along with the UNWTO, the fair has been endorsed by entities such as the Ministry of Tourism, Maldives Association for Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO), Boating Association and the Association of Travel Agents (ATA).

Over 50, leading tour operators and travel agencies took part in the IMTM last year along with 25 participants from various countries in numerous fields.
