Another person has tested positive for COVID-19 in Fuvahmulah City.

Fuvamulah Hospital’s post on their Facebook page said that a sample collected on Saturday from a person after 14 days in quarantine had tested positive and contract tracing is underway as per the procedure.

The hospital said that the person who tested positive today had no connection to the person who tested positive on Friday. The person who tested today is asymptomatic and in good health according to the hospital.

With two active cases, the hospital said that the public is advised to stay indoors unless for essential needs and wear face masks and practice distancing when out in public. And the people in home quarantine are advised to follow the guidelines as well.

Previously, a positive case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Fuvahmulah City on 5 September after 36-year-old woman tested positive in home quarantine.
