Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services has said that they received 238 cases last month and a high number of them are sexual abuse of children.

Statistics released by the Ministry show 106 cases of various crimes against children were reported last month with 44 cases being sexual abuse, 29 cases of negligence, 16 cases of physical abuse, seven cases of showing or seeing an act of domestic abuse by a child, five cases of psychological abuse, two cases of cyberbullying, two cases of physical bullying by other children and one case of child exploitation.

Last month also saw ten cases of child rights violation reported to the Ministry along with two cases of crimes by underage children and 24 cases of family issues.

The Ministry also saw 46 case of gender-based abuse reported along with 29 cases of physical abuse, eight cases of psychological abuse, three cases of sexual assault, three cases of negligence, two cases of influencing and one case of obstructing finances.

Another 32 cases requesting assistance for the elderly and people with disabilities were reported to the ministry as well along with eight cases of self harm.
