7,732 Bangladeshis have been repatriated under the Economic Ministry and Immigration Department's efforts to repatriate undocumented expatriates in the Maldives.

Maldivian said on Wednesday that 200 Bangladeshis had been repatriated the same day. They added that the flight was operated to Dhaka, Bangladesh and that it was the 40th flight under the government's efforts to repatriate expatriates.

Immigration statistics reveal that about 60,000 undocumented expatriates are in the Maldives. Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail had previously stated that they are working to repatriate 20,000 of these.
