President of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Mariyam Shiuna, has said that the cases of 30 people are being investigated in connection with the corruption scandal of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).
She made the statement at the on-going meeting of the Parliament’s Finance Committee while respond questions from the members.
Speaking at the committee meeting, the ACC President said that it is not the only body investigating the MMPRC corruption scandal which involves a lot of people.
She said that a joint investigation is underway with the Maldives Police Service and the Asset Recovery Commission formed by the President, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
When the MPs on committee repeatedly asked when the investigation would be completed, Shiuna said that it would be difficult to estimate since it is a joint investigation with multiple authorities.
