After another 50 people tests positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives in the past 24 hours, the total number of cases in the country has risen to 10,993.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 50 people have tested positive including 48 locals and 02 foreigners.

In the same time frame, another 50 people recovered from COVID-19, the total recoveries in the country has reached 9,833 with another 1,118 people in treatment.

Statistics show that there are 384 people in treatment at isolation facilities while 67 people are being treated at hospitals.

So far, there have been 35 COVID-related fatalities in the Maldives that includes 29 locals, five Bangladeshi nationals and a Philippine national.
