After another 49 people tests positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives in the past 24 hours, the total number of cases in the country has risen to 10,943.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 49 people have tested positive including 33 locals and 16 foreigners.

In the same time frame, another 41 people recovered from COVID-19, the total recoveries in the country has reached 9,783 with another 1,118 people in treatment.

Statistics show that there are 389 people in treatment at isolation facilities while 68 people are being treated at hospitals.

So far, there have been 35 COVID-related fatalities in the Maldives that includes 29 locals, five Bangladeshi nationals and a Philippine national.
