President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has returned to Maldives following his unofficial visit to Sri lanka.
President Solih departed on a three-day unofficial visit to Sri Lanka last Thursday. The Office of the President have not revealed further details regarding the visit.
President Solih had visited India on an official visit last December. The official visit taken upon an invitation by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi involved meeting with the Prime Minister, President and Vice President of India as well as the Minister of External Affairs.
Four agreements fostering Maldives-India relations were signed on this trip. President Solih and Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a joint statement following the signing of the agreements.
The joint statement released to the press gave further information on the significant matters that were agreed upon by the two nations.
India has agreed to grant a $1.4 billion line of credit to Maldives as aid.
