The number of COVID-19-related deaths in the Maldives has risen to 35 after another Maldivian passed away today.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that a 56-year-old Maldivian female undergoing treatment at Dharumavantha Hospital, passed away at 02:20pm today. They added that this is considered the 35th Covid-19 death in the country.
This marks the first COVID-19 death this month.
Previously there have been 34 COVID-related fatalities in the Maldives that included 28 locals, five Bangladeshi nationals, and a Philippine national. The number has now climbed to 35, with 29 locals.
The total number of cases in the country has risen to 10,859, with 9,683 total recoveries with another 1,135 people in treatment.
