President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that the COVID-19 pandemic underscores the importance of quality mental healthcare.

He made the statement in a tweet on World Mental Health Day. October 10th is marked as the World Mental Health Day annually.

In his tweet, he further stated that "access to mental health services remains a key aspect of our public health outlook".

He also reaffirmed the government'ss commitment to expanding mental healthcare nationwide.
