Former Minister of Home Affairs, Mr. Umar Naseer said that he is the leader that will send away the naval helicopters gifted to Maldives by India.

The current government has renewed the agreement with India to operate the naval helicopters and have begun efforts such as airlifting patients as well conducting aerial surveillance of the seas.

In a post made on Facebook by Umar Naseer, he said that no Maldivian Politician has succeeded in sending back the naval Choppers.

The Maldivian public had previously expressed their concern regarding the Indian navy operating helicopters in this country. President Ibrahim Solih has since reassured the public that although the choppers are flown by the Indian military, all operations are conducted, as instructed by the Maldivian government.

The two choppers gifted by India was bright in to aid patient-air lifts as well as conducting Search and Rescue operations and were initially gifted to Maldives during the previous administration of President Nasheed in 2010.
