Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has said that the asphalt laying works is set to begin this month as part of the Laamu Atoll Fonadhoo road development project.

MTCC said that 3.5 kilometers of asphalt would be laid. Taking to Twitter, the company said that “We have scheduled to begin asphalt laying works within this month. The project was mobilized on 26th June 2019”.

The project entails the installation of speed breaks and traffic signs according to the MTCC.

The work on the project worth MVR 25.5 million contracted by Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, began on 26 June 2019.
