Two more people have tested positive for COVID-19 at Kulhudhuffushi City in Haa Dhaalu Atoll.

Latest statistics from the Health Protection Agency (HPA) show that the two most recent cases on the island are of two people who were in home quarantine.

With the recent cases, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Kulhudhuffushi City has risen to seven. Their first reported case was on 25 September 2020 after a boat captain returned from a trip to the capital, Male’ City.

While three people who came in contact with the captain had also tested positive, a person in home quarantine on the island was also confirmed positive on 27 September.

The island was brought to a monitoring status after that before being resumed to normal after completing the contact tracing protocols.

Statistics show the highest number of cases on the weekend was at Laamu Atoll Kahdhoo after 26 military officers that went to the island from the capital tested positive, all in home quarantine.
