Concerns have been shared with the President, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih regarding the lack of a jetty at Haa Alifu Hoarafushi airport.
President of the Haa Alifu Atoll Council, Abdulla Hussain told One Online that while the airport development in Hoarafushi is close to completion, concerns about the lack of a jetty at the island has been shared by the councils of 12 island in the atoll.
He said that they, as the Atoll Council, have shared concerns as well but has yet to receive any response to it.
Atoll Council President, Abdulla Hussain said that the people of Haa Alifu Atoll want the Hoarafushi Airport to become one that can be used without difficulties, just as President Solih has promised.
The Council President said that currently, people would have to go to Hoarafushi and take a vehicle to the airport instead of going directly to the airport.
While the airport development nears completion, the project is contracted to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
