Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed has said that he did not receive any of the embezzled funds from the MMPRC Corruption Scandal.
Nasheed's statement comes after former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb alleged that former presidents and all political parties had benefited from the stolen money from MMPRC. He continuously denied this on Twitter today, saying that he had not received any of the stolen MMPRC money.
During his trial hearing at the Criminal Court yesterday, Adeeb had pleaded guilty to all seven charges and requested for the trial to move ahead quickly. He had revealed that former presidents, political parties and government senior officials had received the stolen money.
Apart from Nasheed, Adhaalath Party had also denied receiving any of this money.
