All COVID-19 patients in Gaafu Dhaalu Hoadehdhoo has recovered from the illness except for one person.

The island’s Health Center said that a total of 462 samples were collected and 45 people tested positive while 343 samples tested negative.

Hoadehdhoo Health Center said that test results are pending on 74 samples but 44 of the 45 people who tested positive has now recovered and only one house is currently under quarantine on the island.

The island first reported cases of COVID-19 on 2 September 2020 after a family of four tested positive in home quarantine upon arriving from Male’ City. Following the cases, survey samples were collected in Hoadehdhoo and four people were found positive on 4 September and the island was brought under monitoring along with Madaveli, the island connected via causeway.

And the Health Protection Agency (HPA) began their research to find how COVID-19 arrived at the island.
