A group of workers brought in from India to build the Police Academy in Addu City has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Manager of the Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH), Sharaf Saadhath has confirmed this to One Online.

The Head of the Equatorial Hospital said that samples were collected from 128 workers yesterday and the samples are now being processed

Saadhath said that as the samples are being processed, they cannot reveal the number of people who tested positive. However, the information will be released later today.

Surveillance samples were collected in Addu City on Saturday and Sunday to see if there were cases of COVID-19 in Addu City.
