President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has departed on an unofficial visit to Sri Lanka.
The Office of the President reports that the president has departed on a three-day long unofficial trip to the neighboring country of Sri Lanka. The office has not reiterated any other other details regarding this visit at this time.
President Solih had visited India on an official trip the previous month. The visit, taken upon an invitation by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi involved meeting with the Prime minister, President and Vice President of India as well as the Minister for External Affairs.
President Solih on his previous visit to India had signed four different agreements in order to foster diplomatic relations. President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had released a joint statement regarding the visit. The statement released to the press revealed information regarding joint decisions made by the two leaders.
India has agreed to allocate a $1.4 Billion line of credit in aid to Maldives.
