MVR 44.5 million has been released as Frontline Allowance for the officers of MNDF and the Maldives Police Service.

Ministry of Finance and Treasury said that the funds were released to 6.518 officers of the two institutes. With this most recent amount, a total of MVR 78 million have been released as Frontline Allowance so far.

There have been delays in releasing the Frontline Allowance to the MNDF and the Police since there were decisions to be made on the regulation for allowance for the employees of the two institutes.

Frontline Allowance is given in three categories in the form of daily MVR 500 for those in the high risk category, daily MVR 250 for medium risk category and daily MVR 200 for those in the low risk category.
