The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Aishath Susan Haneef, has been suspended.
Civil Service Commission (CSC) today said that the Permanent Secretary of the Tourism Ministry has been suspended for a clerical review after the issued noted by a special audit conducted by the Tourism Ministry.
She was suspended for one month, with pay.
A total of 26 employees of the Tourism Ministry filed a complaint against the Permanent Secretary hired on 27 July 2020 at the CSC requesting an investigation.
In the letter to the President of the CSC, Mohamed Naasih, employees of the Tourism Ministry raised multiple concerns about the Permanent Secretary’s capacity to fulfill the job requirements including a failure to adhere to the job description.
Employees have also accused her of differentiating between employees and interacting with employees in a way that creates conflict between employees and upper management.
