Former President, Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, has been released from hospital after 21 days in treatment for COVID-19.

The 81-year-old former President was tested positive and admitted at Dharumavantha Hospital on 25 August.

Taking to Twitter after returning home, Maumoon confirmed that he has recovered from COVID-19 and safely back home with the grace of God. And wish quick recoveries those afflicted by various diseases.

A person close to the Maumoon family told One Online that the former President is now in good health and was kept at the hospital for 21 days to monitor his condition after recovery.
