A woman in home quarantine at Alifu Alifu Ukulhas has passed away.

Confirming the death, the Manager of the Ukulhas Health Center, Abdulla Saeed, told One Online that the deceased is a 66-year-old local woman who passed away after being transferred due to difficulties with breathing.

Saeed said that the woman returned from Male’ City after a medical visit and went in to home quarantine two days ago. He said that the woman has pre-existing breathing and heart conditions and did not exhibit any symptoms of COVID-19 leading up to her death.

Under the regulation for deaths during home quarantine, samples have been collected from the deceased to be tested for COVID-19, pending results.

On 1 September, a cancer patient in home quarantine in Haa Alifu Kelaa passed away while in treatment at the Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital after his health got poor. His death was ruled as a COVID-death.
