After another person tested positive for COVID-19, the total number of cases in Lhaviyani Atoll Naifaru has risen to eight.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that the person who tested positive today was a Bangladeshi national and is a contact of a person who tested positive from the island previously.
HPA said that there are currently seven active cases in the island and it consists of six locals and one foreign national.
COVID-19 cases have been reported today from Kelaa and Dhihdhdhoo in Haa Alifu Atoll, Noonu Atoll Manadhoo, Lhaviyani Naifaru, Raa Atoll Dhuvaafaru and Hoadehdhoo in Gaafu Alifu Atoll with two cases today.
Statistics from the HPA show and that there are 90 cases in 26 islands that consists of 82 locals and eight foreign patients. There are eight people admitted for treatment at the COVID facilities across the country according to HPA.
