Prosecutor General’s Office (PG Office) has forwarded the case against the former Deputy Mayor of Male’ City, Ibrahim Sujaau to the Criminal Court for prosecution.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) completed their investigation against Sujaau for abusing his power of authority and office to permit the construction of a building taller than the approved regulation to grant an unlawful gain to an individual, and sent the case to the PG Office on Tuesday.
PG Office today said that the former Deputy Mayor is going to be charged with abuse of authority for a gain.
He is being charged under Article 12-B in reference to 12-A of the Anti-Corruption Act. If found guilty, he would face a prison sentence no less than three years.
