A person who passed away in home quarantine at Kulhudhuffushi City in Haa Dhaalu Atoll, has tested positive for COVID-19.

Deputy Director General of the Health Ministry, Thasleema Usman told One Online the deceased was confirmed positive after testing under the protocol for testing a person who passes away in quarantine. However, a decision has not been made if it was a COVID-19 related death.

Thasleema said that the person who passed away was in treatment for cancer and had been in home quarantine for five days.

Statistics released by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) yesterday show no COVID-19 patients in Kulhudhuffushi City. And all 72 random samples in the CIty to check for a community spread came back negative.
