Two people have been arrested after the money stolen from a house in Laamu Atoll Isdhoo was found buried.

Maldives Police Service said that the theft at a house in Isdhoo was reported yesterday and a special operation was launched during which the money was recovered.

The joint operation by the Isdhoo Police Station, Laamu Gan Police Station and Police Intelligence found the stolen money buried on the island. Police said that following the information received to Police Intelligence, a total of MVR 352,500 was recovered.

Two men of the ages 29 and 38 have been arrested with a court order in connection to the case and an investigation is under way.
