MNDF has issued a weather cautionary as the recent weather has become worse.
With the MET Office forecast stating that the weather is expected to get worse, MNDF has advised sea travelers to ensure all precautions.
And so, sea travelers, boat captains, and crewmen are advised to acquire the latest weather reports before traveling and ensure that all the safety equipment is in working order. They are also advised not to exceed the legal capacity when it comes to passengers and cargo.
MNDF has also issued a special advisory for cargo vessels traveling at night to keep to the cargo capacity and secure the cargo properly. Vessel owners and captains are advised to give special attention to water pumps on vessels in the lagoon.
Any incidents at sea are to be reported immediately to the Coast Guard emergency line 191.
