Health Protection Agency (HPA) has lifted the monitoring state on Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo and resumed the island to normal state.
The monitoring was lifted this morning.
A statement issued by the HPA said that the island has been resumed to normal after a decision was made that there is no reason to keep the island under monitoring now that the inquires under Article 12 of the Health Protection Act has been met.
The island was placed under monitoring on Saturday after a man who works on a boat that travels to Male’ City tested positive for COVID-19 along with a Bangladeshi national who works on the same boat.
HPA has previously said that 41 people were placed in home quarantine in connection the first person that tested positive.
