Former President, Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has been summoned by the Maldives Police Service and ordered to appear at the police station today.

The order to appear at the station was delivered to the former President today.

Responding to a question from One Online, President Waheed said that police appeared at his resident to deliver the summon order and was asked to appear at a convenient time today.

The former President said that he would be appearing at the police station at 4 p.m. and the police wants to question him regarding the motorcycle ride in Male’ City on Friday.

While President Waheed is being summoned today, police have started an investigation into the opposition protests last Friday following allegations of Health Protection Agency (HPA) violations of masks and distancing.

Former President Waheed had addressed the rally on Friday.
