Gaafu Dhall Atoll Thinadhoo has been brought under monitoring due to the spread of COVID-19.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) placed the island under monitoring after a man tested positive for COVID-19 in the island. HPA has since informed the island council about the decision.

HPA stated that the island was brought under monitoring for further investigations regarding the positive case. They also added that the man who tested positive is a crew of a boat that travels to capital Male' city.

No one is allowed to leave the island or enter unless further notice by the HPA.
