Government has begun works of building an observation facility at Thaajuddin School to increase capacity to care for COVID-19 patients.

STO in a tweet said that they have "started building a 19-bed setup at Thaajuddeen School to increase capacity to care for Covid-19 patients".

Speaking during a press conference by the HEOC on August 25th, Dr. Ahmed Shaheed revealed that an observation facility will be developed at Thaajuddin School and Hiriyaa School. The facility at Thaajuddin School will be used for minor treatments for those in home isolation.

Some expats along with locals who needed to be isolated or required temporary shelters were housed at schools in Male' previously as well.

The greater Male’ region currently admits patients in Dharumavantha Hospital and the Hulhumale’ COVID-19 medical facility.
