Health Minister Abdulla Ameen has said that he agrees the delivery of ventilators procured by the Health Minstry has taken quite a while but added that he does not believe that we might not receive them.
Minister Ameen made the statement while responding to questions at the Parliament’s Financial Committee with the Health Ministry’s Bid Committee, where they are being questioned regarding the alleged corruption in procuring ventilators from Dubai based Executors General.
Speaking during the meeting, Minister Ameen said that contact with the company is still ongoing and that they have received photographic and video evidence of the ventilators. He added that discussions regarding the delivery of the equipment have been ongoing till today as well.
He however agreed that due to the challenges in paying the company, it took a long time to reach an agreement in that front. A document has also been prepared in this regard to outline how work will be carried out during different phases.
