Bank of Maldives PLC (BML) has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ten hospitals in the country,

The bank said that they donated face shields to assist the healthcare sector in the efforts against COVID-19. The donates were made to the following hospitals:

  • Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH)
  • Haa Alifu Atoll Hospital in Dhidhdhoo
  • Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital
  • Noonu Atoll Hospital in Manadhoo
  • Ungoofaaru Regional Hospital
  • Vaavu Atoll Hospital in Felidhoo
  • Faafu Atoll Hospital in Nilandhoo
  • Thaa Atoll Hospital in Veymandoo
  • Gan Regional Hospital
  • Gaafu Alifu Atoll Hospital in Vilingili

BML said that ensuring the safety of the health workers is one of the most important things at this time and it has been a pleasure to provide safety equipment that is greatly needed by those in the industry and thank the health works for their service.

The bank has also taken a number of precautions for the safety of their customers including the move to a largely online banking operation and introduction of short-term financing.

BML has also given a pause on the repayment period of personal, housing and business loans along with the education assistance loans. The bank has also an agent for the funds being issued through the government’s COVID-19 recovery scheme.
