New cases of COVID-19 have been reported from Lhaviyani Atoll Hinnavaru.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that a 78-year-old woman and a ten-year-old girl tested positive in Hinnavaru on the samples collected before being released from home quarantine.
On 31 July, a 30-year-old man in home quarantine on the island tested positive but now has been released from quarantine after a recovery.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives have risen up to 6,225 with a high number of cases coming from the atolls.
As of yesterday, the COVID-19 cases have been reported from Filladhoo and Ihavandhoo in Haa Alifu Atoll, Naavaidhoo and Kurimbi in Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Noonu Atoll Miladhoo, Kamadhoo and Kudarikilu in Baa Atoll, Raa Atoll Hulhudhuffaaru, Lhaviyani Atoll Naifaru and Hinnavaru, Thulusdhoo and Hinmafushi in Kaafu Atoll, Alifu Dhaalu Maamigili, Faafu Atoll Nilandhoo, Vaavu Atoll Keyodhoo, Madifushi and Vilufushi in Thaa Atoll, Fuvahmulah City along with Hithadhoo and Feydhoo in Addu City.
