A six-year-old child in home quarantine at Alifu Dhaalu Maamigili has tested positive for COVID-19.

Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) had confirmed the news.

As such, the HEOC said that the patient is a Maldivian girl and that her test results arrived this morning. However, they did not reveal any further details regarding the case.

So far there are 5,676 COVID-19 cases in the Maldives of which 2,449 people have recovered and 3,208 remain as active cases. There are 22 COVID-19 deaths in the country. These are four Bangladeshis and eighteen Maldivians along with a Phillipines national.
