The Spokesperson for the Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC), Dr. Nazla Rafeeg, has gone into quarantine after getting in contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19.
Taking to Twitter this evening, Dr. Nazla said that she has gone into quarantine after getting in contact with a family member who has tested positive. She said that she is in good health and will be virtualy taking part in the series of HEOC press conferences.
Dr. Nazla was appointed to the position on 4 June 2020 after the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) was disbanded and the HEOC was formed.
In the past 24 hours, 78 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives raising the total number of cases in the country to 5,572.
Meanwhile, 90 people have been confirmed recovered in the past 24 hours raising the total recoveries in the country to 3,010.
