A person in home quarantine at Raa Atoll Meedhoo has passed away.
Manager of the Meedhoo Health Center, Ahmed Naseem has confirmed to One Online that a 72-year-old local woman died this morning around 10:40 a.m. He did not offer any further details on the matter.
Member of the R. Meedhoo Island Council, Razzan Zareer told One Online that the woman went to India for a surgery but returned without the surgery and was tested negative for COVID-19 upon her return to the country. However, the Councilman did not say when she went abroad nor did he say when she went into home quarantine.
With both the President and Vice President of the Meedhoo Council not answering calls, there are no further information as to that fact.
Deputy Director General of the Health Ministry, Thasleema Usman spoke to One Online saying that samples have been collected from the deceased for COVID-19 testing as per the current procedure with all deaths.
