A person who traveled from Male’ City to Raa Atoll Hulhudhuffaaru yesterday and went in to home quarantine has tested positive for COVID-19.

Member of the Hulhudhuffaaru Island Council, Ibrahim Shifaz has confirmed this to One Online saying that the person who tested positive is a woman who arrived at the island yesterday. He said that the woman has shown no symptoms of the illness so far.

Councilor Shifaz said that the woman traveled from Male’ after giving samples for testing and the results came about 20 minutes after she arrived at the island.

The woman in question traveled to Hulhudhuffaaru under the guidelines of the Health Protection Agency (HPA) with the appropriate permits to go home quarantine at the island according to Councilor Shifaz. And the Island’ s Health Center is monitoring her status.

He said that all in home quarantine in Hulhudhuffaaru are in good health and being checked on by the Health Center daily. And following the COVID-19 positive patient, the Health Center is working with HPA to follow the procedure.
