Commissioner of Police, Mohamed Hameed, has said that 93 cases of COVID-19 have been found within the Maldives Police Service.

Taking to Twitter today, Commissioner Hameed said that 93 officers and staff of the police have been confirmed for the illness with 56 active cases.

"As we take stricker internal measures to mitigate the pread, we continue to deliver leadership, resources and support for the national effort." Commissioner Hameed said.

At the Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) press conference on Saturday, Spokesperson Dr. Nazla Rafeeq said that 67 police officers and 64 health workers had tested positive.

The number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives have been on the rise since last month. And so, as of yesterday, 4,594 cases have been confirmed and 1,869 people in treatment with 110 admitted at the hospitals.
