A person in home quarantine at Fuvahmulah City has tested positive for COVID-19.

Fuvahmulah City Deputy Mayor Mohamed Lirar revealed to 'One' that the patient had traveled to the island on July 20th. He added that the patient was found to be positive from the release sample collected two days ago, upon the completion of the home quarantine period.

According to Lirar, there were others who were quarantined on the island who traveled on the same flight with the patient including the patient's family. However, he did not reveal the number of people who were quarantined together.

Deputy Director General of the Health Ministry, Thasleema Usman confirmed to 'One' that the patient who had tested positive today is a 36-year-old woman.
